Ok, now it's been another 3 months without any posts.
So, I've been reading a lot of other people's postings for a number of reasons and honestly found out that the ones that REALLY make me laugh are the ones from people from Brazil living here in the U.S.
I don't know if it's because of the fact that even though I am totally fluent in English I still don't have a good "library" of fancy words in my head (aka a Harvard level vocab) or if it's simply because Portuguese strikes me as a more elaborate and elegant language...wonder why...hehe :)

So I can't decide whether to keep on posting in Portuguese or English.

I keep thinking "If I do it in English, I can't be all that open about what's going on...can't really openly bitch about my friends, can't complain when I have a bad day at work, can't post my landlord's name followed by offensive words (ok, just kidding, they're actually really nice to me) and so on". But on the other hand, writing in Portuguese for the sake of privacy or just for wanting to use more elaborate words and venture into the world of literary comedy brings me another set of problems:

A.) Do I even still have that good a command of the language to be able to pull it off. For how much longer can I use the "Hey, 13 years of top of the line catholic school education, eh?" ??? After not using the language for more than 8 years...other than the occasional awkward encounter at a grocery store and the typical "Nossa., oi, 'ce e do Brasil? Legal"...pause... (lot's of nervous smiles and "eh"s and "uh-hu"s... Or the occasional OK, THE EVERYDAY phone call to Erica to bitch about life and laugh at the same jokes...

B.) Hell, see, I can't even organize my thoughts in English either. A and B have kinda morphed into each other, so let's move on to C

C.) If I start posting in Portuguese and I do finally admit my megalomaniacal side and my deep darkest need to be the center of attention, I could very easily end up having NO ONE ever read this...and then it doesn't really matter what I post, right?

So...here's the conclusion...when I feel like Portuguese it will be Portuguese. When I feel like English, it will be English...and the crows (tadinha...continua pensando que tem "crowds" lendo esta porqueira) will have to deal with it.

At least I am serving humanity 2 purposes...forcing them to learn a foreign language and making them feel better about themselves by seeing how pathetic my life can be. ;)

Ok, recap of the past 3 months...

-Madonna concert last Sunday. Still star-struck, better seats this time.
-Moved out of the ghetto apartment into a nice 1 bedroom. My crap managed to fill up every single inch of the 750 square feet
-Started playing tennis again
-Got a bike trainer from Matze and hooked it up to my bike. Yes, that's as far as it went
-Sonu's mom was over for a few weeks. It was fun. She kicked our asses on tennis
-Napoleon (Susan's dog) joined us in the office (she got him from her sister). I really like him. Finally found someone who's tummy is softer than mine. :)
-Buddy's been digging their backyard. Kenny's seems to feel like a parent who just saw his 13 year old daughter put make up for the first time and go on her first date with a weird 18 year old. Confused, frustrated, feeling cheated, unloved, etc. It'll pass. I think they're great for each other. Two nice dudes.
-Santos basically moved here from Oregon. I like having someone around who likes beer MORE than I do! :)
-Sons (Sonu) got a hair cut. Looks real cute
- I've been calling Sonu "Sons" (long "o")
-Dan's set up a gym in his living room...seems to be doing super well
-Erica's been working like a maniac but managed to escape for 2 weeks to a little unknown tropical paradise called "Brasil"...I think that's how you spell it. ;)
-Matthias has freed himself from midterms, finals, mean professors and stupid classmates. Been hanging out in Switzerland and Germany for the past 2 weeks as well. Studying the "chemistry" of chocolate. His latest paper "What would happen to my intestines if I ate 400g of Toblerone on one sitting?" :)
-Sarah moved to Portland...still looking at the map trying to figure out how long it would take me to get there by all possible means of transportation. Long story, could be a blog of it's own... :)
-Vicky and Suzy sounding more and more like two old grannies! Cute, I love it!
-I saw Nalu Kai again! She looks really cute. White beard and all! Wolf!
-Talked to Drina on the phone the other day. She's doing great and wants to come back
-Talked to Marcelo via voice mail (A LOT). He's still having delusional dreams of going back...can't wait for him to come and visit. Will open up a can of WHOOP ASS and end that madness. :)
-YORI HAD ANOTHER BABY! Cute as a button! Now it's two ladies and a gentleman called "Elvis". Gotta love'em!
-Started talking to my parents via messenger with the webcam. Super cool. Love to go "Flopy, cade voce? Pega Flopy, Pega!!!!" HAHAHAHHA :)

I think that's all for now...getting tired here and still recovering from the Bucca di Beppo company dinner (well accompanied by some nice Chianti!)

cheers and amanha tem mais!
