A la mesa y a la cama solo una vez se llama

Loved this saying! Just saw it on someone's blog.

P.S. It's in Spanish
P.S.2 The photo is from a Mexican restaurant in Sao Paulo

Kokkari

Yes it sounds Japanese but it's not. Well at least it's not the name of a Japanese restaurant but that of a great Greek place in SF. Kokkari Estiatorio.

Went there today with some folks from work (the picture if actually of the exact table we sat at).

We started with some dolmas and a grilled beet salad that were just amazing. Then on to a "nuclearly" hot bowl of Moussaka that was just out of this world.

We finished off our lunch with a few cups of Greek stone-ground coffee heated over hot sand. Metrio for me (medium sweet).

We also had the pleasure of watching 2 pigs being roasted on the fireplace/pit right next to our table. Smelled delicious.

Nabeyaki is the best!

I love nabeyaki soup and today after telling my buddy Yoshi that I love it so much he gave me some tips on how to make it:

go to the land of slapping machine
haha
i'd use the konbu seaweed to make the broth
then soy sauce (use the "usukuchi" (lighter color) type, not koikuchi (darker color)
study jp and read this: http://cookpad.com/mykitchen/recipe/486216/

Thanks Yoshi!!
